OUR STORY

The Fashionkraft Journey

In 2020, Erick Ezekielsen founded Fashionkraft, blending his extensive background in fashion filmmaking with creative, Afrocentric design and strategic branding expertise. Driven by passion, resilience, and a deep reverence for nature, Erick set out with a clear vision: to build Africa’s premier fashion platform—one that connects designers, models, and creatives from across East Africa and beyond. From its inception, Fashionkraft was designed to cherish and honor African cultural heritage through the lenses of beauty, lifestyle, art, and design.

Erick has consistently chosen to collaborate with like-minded brands, creators, and platforms that reflect responsible social and environmental impact, always maintaining the highest creative integrity.

Choosing Independence Over Endless Growth

Building an independent, premier African fashion platform from the ground up is no small feat. Erick deliberately chose to forge his own path, declining external investments and opportunities that did not align with his core purpose. Every partnership and collaboration was meticulously vetted to ensure it genuinely contributed to a more sustainable fashion industry.

Despite remaining a boutique, independent operation, Fashionkraft has produced hundreds of original fashion films and research-backed articles. Even as AI alters the digital landscape, Erick continues to champion human curiosity, critical thinking, independent filmmaking, and authentic journalism. Furthermore, the platform remains fiercely committed to partnering exclusively with brands driving real, positive change.

A New Chapter: The Fashionkraft Archive

Looking back, Erick is proud to have witnessed African fashion and cultural heritage evolve from a niche conversation into a global movement celebrated by mainstream media, major brands, and audiences worldwide. He hopes Fashionkraft has sparked deeper, more thoughtful conversations about what we wear and why.

As the digital and media landscape changes, so does life. After several incredible years, Erick is transitioning to a new chapter as a parent. To honor these new beginnings while preserving the platform’s legacy, Fashionkraft is evolving into a permanent archive—a living library of inspiration, knowledge, and hope.

Fashionkraft will remain a powerful resource to showcase talent, uplift regional voices, and connect the fashion community. Its stories, ideas, and impact will continue to thrive for everyone seeking a deeper, more thoughtful relationship with African fashion.
